Born in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Davies-Ekwenna was profoundly influenced by his early years spent in Okwelle, Nigeria, where limited healthcare access and preventable diseases were a harsh reality. Witnessing the devastating impact of malaria, typhoid, and cholera in his community ignited his passion for medicine. His intellectual curiosity led him to the University of California, Berkeley, where he pursued a degree in Biochemistry before earning his medical degree at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
